Nikolaos A. Bafaloukas was born in Athens and graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1995. He specialized in Urology at the Sismanogleio General Hospital of Athens in 2004. He further trained in endourology at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in London from 2005 to 2006. He also trained in minimally invasive methods for the treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), specifically in Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP).
Dr. Bafaloukas applies the HoLEP method for the treatment of BPH at the IASO General Clinic, successfully using the MultiPulse HoPlus. He has performed over 1,000 HoLEP procedures with the en bloc technique. Over the past year, in addition to the laser Rectoscope and Morcesope, the Clinic has also been offering the 22 Fr mini version of HoLEP, known as MiLEP. He is a pioneer in Greece in ECIRS (Combined Percutaneous Lithotripsy Mini PCNL with Endoscopic Laser Lithotripsy RIRS), which represents the current evolution of all endoscopic lithotripsy techniques.
